Amber Concepcion is a Centre County native. She returned home in 2007 to raise her family.

A graduate of State High, Amber earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Penn State and a master's degree in international politics, with a concentration in security studies, from Georgetown University.

She served eleven years on the State College Area School District Board of Directors, including nine years as board president. During that time, the district achieved financial stability and completed six major building projects to replace failing facilities.

In January 2023, Amber was appointed Centre County Commissioner to complete the term of Commissioner Michael Pipe, becoming the county's first female commissioner in nearly two decades. That November she was elected to a full term, and she continues to serve on the county Board of Commissioners today.

Amber and her husband live in State College, where they run a web design and development business.
